Sir,

I have the honour to submit for your

consideration a point which has arisen with regard to

the passage privileges of Mr. C.H.G. Bradley, Assistant

Auditor.

2. In August 1932 the Government brought into

force new Leave and Passage rules, a short comparative

summary of which is attached. These rules will apply to all new appointments but officers at present on the establishment were given the option of serving under the

new or old. This option had to be exercised by 1st

November 1932.

3. The new rules are incorporated in General

Orders a copy of which was forwarded to you under my

Flying Seal Schedule No. 19 of 1932.

4. The particular point I wish to refer to you is

the class of passage accommodation authorised to the

Assistant Auditor on the scale £450 X 50 X 700.

Acceptance of the new rules, which are distinctly more generous than the old, would mean that Mr. Bradley, his

wife and two children would be entitled to only 2nd Class accommodation because the maximum salary of his appointment is not "above £800 p.a.".
